Psalm 68 “Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds”

The Psalm 68 study entitled “Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds” is now available here.

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

This quote from Psa 68:5 sums up nicely what this Psalm 68 points to, as we learn of how God works the struggles in our life within this holy habitation which we are, so that we the elect of God can be sanctified and used to become a father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows.

You may say ‘no’ it says: “God is a father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows…”  to which scripture says Christ and his Father are one (Joh 10:30) and as He is so are we (1Jn 4:17). So we are like our Father because we are like His son.

Understanding this relationship is how we ascribe strength unto God who is making his strength perfect through the elect (Joh 14:20).

What a blessing to know that we are that little flock (Luk 12:32), the few who are chosen of the many in this high calling to be “a father of the fatherless” by turning the hearts of the children to their fathers and the fathers to their children (Mal 4:6). We are also given the power to visit the fatherless and the widow in their affliction (Jas 1:27).

This desire to reconcile humanity through the strength of Christ is a gift ascribed unto the elect, made manifest because of God who is making His strength known in the elect clouds who will be used to judge all the earth. The body of Christ, this cloud of witness is going to bring his judgements into the unconverted earth (Isa 26:9, 1Co 6:2-3) that will finally one day receive the whole stay of bread and water that for this time has been taken away (Isa 3:1 , Job 36:27-31 , Rev 14:2-3).

The provision of His Word (or rain) through the church during the millennium will be the means by which God will soften the earth and make it ready to be judged in the lake of fire (Rev 20:4-6), going from being ruled with a rod of iron in the earth (Rev 2:27) to being crushed by the stone in the great white throne judgement (Rev 20:11-15) where all of mankind and the angels of God will be judged by those weak of the world not many noble brethren (1Cor 1:26) who have gone on to perfection to demonstrate to the rest of humanity that only God can build the house (Psa 127:1), as we will have this tremendous honor as His first fruits to be the first to “Ascribe ye strength unto God: [for] his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds” and we will be used to help build the other fold or house of God with that strength that has been perfected within us (Joh 10:16 , 1Jn 4:17 , Oba 1:21)
