(The study with Psalm 98 — including video, audio and notes — is available here)
In this two part study entitled “Psalm 98 “The LORD hath made known his salvation” (his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen)” we look at who it is that God is truly giving eyes to see and ears to hear in this age (Mat 13:16).
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Salvation is a gift that God will give to all men in time and in the order that He has determined (1Co 15:22 , 1Jn 2:2 , 1Co 14:40 , Jas 5:7). God has shown His people who are being judged today (1Pet 4:17) that it is through that judgement that His salvation is being made known in our hearts.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Co 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Jas 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Verse two of the study tells us “The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen” and verse nine concludes with how it is that God will show salvation to those heathen nations within us that need to be brought into subjection unto the kingdom of God within us (Luk 17:21) through Christ “Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity”.
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
We rejoice today for the wonderful works that God is doing as He bring us together to consider the work of His hands, and His righteousness being formed within us through judgement (Psa 107:31). God’s purpose all along, has been to save a few in this age (a remnant) and then bring the rest of humanity in the latter harvest, into a relationship with Him showing his salvation unto the rest of the world through the church (Oba 1:21 , Eph 3:10).
Psa 107:31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
This study also looks at the praise that is formed in the body through the unity that is forged through the trials and much tribulation that God uses to burn out the schisms in our heavens (1Co 12:25), as we are reminded of the blessed hope within us (Col 1:27), and the promises of God that tell us nothing can separate us from His love (Rom 8:35), a love that declares that we are his sons and daughters who have been sealed with our names written in heaven (Luk 10:20 , 2Co 1:22 ).
1Co 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
God has blessed us to know Him and Jesus Christ and his body, which is a body that is growing in praise and thanksgiving for the incredible privilege to be able to receive the words of eternal life He freely gives us, words that He has blessed us to continue in and be healed by as we endure unto the end together, thanking God for all that He has assured us will unfold (Php 1:6).
Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
